Frequently asked questions
About the class
Is the class really free?
Yes. The class is free, it runs about 40 minutes live on Zoom, and no products are sold in it. It exists because teaching is how this team meets people and because an educated guest can make a calm decision about any next step.
Is this personal financial advice?
No. The class is general education for Canadians. It does not look at your personal situation, and it does not recommend any product or course of action for you personally.
I am not in Ontario. Can I attend?
Yes. Guests attend from every province. Class times are set in Eastern Time and your confirmation and reminders convert them into your local time zone automatically. Licensing, if you later explore it, is handled province by province, and the next questions cover that.
Will I be pressured to join anything?
No. At the end of the class there is one optional invitation to an expansion presentation. Most guests do not take it, and that is fine. Pressure tactics are against how this team works, and any guest can end contact at any time with one click.
Is the class live, or is it a recording?
It is live. A real host teaches each session in real time on Zoom, with captions on and the chat open for questions as you go. The five steps rotate across the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday sessions, so the step you chose is taught fresh for your group, and questions at the end are answered by a person, not a playback.
What happens to my information after I register?
It is used to run your class: your confirmation and Zoom link, reminders in your local time, and an accurate guest record for the session. With your consent, it also brings you teaching emails and future class invitations, and every email carries a one click unsubscribe that stops marketing contact. We do not sell your information or trade it. The Privacy Policy on this site describes it in full.
Can I attend more than once, or bring someone with me?
Yes to both, with one small step. You register once, and your details stay on file, so joining the sessions for the other steps takes no new form. If your spouse, partner, or a friend wants to come, they register too, so they receive their own Zoom link, their own reminders in their time zone, and their own place on the guest list.
What do I need to bring, and how much time does it take?
Plan on about 40 minutes, live on Zoom. Bring a pen and one page of paper: during the first step you write down your own numbers, privately, and nothing you write is shared with anyone or collected. There is nothing to buy and nothing to prepare ahead of time. Come with questions if you have them, including the hard ones. Asking them is what the end of class is for.
About the career side
What is World Financial Group, and how does this team fit in?
World Financial Group (WFG) is the platform this team works with to offer licensed financial services in Canada. Wealth Foundations Canada is this team's education and recruiting system. People who join the team contract with WFG, complete licensing in their own province, and train with the team. The leader who mentors this team day to day at the senior level is Senior Marketing Director Jason Gehrels, and interviews for interested guests are held with him.
Do I need a finance background?
No. What the work requires at the start is willingness to learn the framework, study for licensing, and treat people honestly.
Can I do this part time?
Many people begin part time alongside an existing job while they study and get licensed, and some choose to build full time later. Study and education activity can start part time. Selling or advising cannot happen until you are licensed in your province. There is no version of this where an unlicensed person sells financial products.
Is this a job with a salary?
No. This is a licensed, commission based business, not salaried employment. Income comes from product sales made as a licensed agent. There is no pay for recruiting people. Anyone who suggests otherwise about this team is wrong, and this page will not do it.
What does licensing involve?
In most of Canada, life insurance licensing starts with the Life Licence Qualification Program, known as the LLQP or HLLQP. The usual order is: complete the certification course, pass the provincial licensing examination for your province, pass a background and suitability check, obtain errors and omissions insurance, and be sponsored so your licence can be issued by your provincial regulator. Regulators include FSRA in Ontario, the Alberta Insurance Council in Alberta, the Insurance Council of British Columbia in British Columbia, and the equivalent body in each other province. Quebec runs a separate licensing system through the AMF, with its own qualification route and French language requirements, and it is handled separately.
What does it cost to get started and licensed?
We publish the full picture. What can be said today, in categories: expect a course fee, an examination fee, an insurance cost, a background check where a province requires it, and WFG related fees described in the official documents you receive before you sign anything. You will see every figure in writing before any decision, and you should take time to read it.
How long does licensing take?
Timelines vary by person and province, depending on study time and examination scheduling. At your interview, the team will walk through a realistic range for your province, in writing, based on the current process.
What if I decide it is not for me after the interview?
Then that is the end of it. You will have the class framework, an honest picture of the path, and our thanks for your time. Your contact details stay subject to the same privacy rules, and you can unsubscribe from everything at any point.
